Welcome to the 2010-2011 School Year!
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 7th. Students are asked to meet in the yard at back of the school betweem 8:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. At this time teachers will meet with students and direct them to their homerooms.
School Supplies
Students are asked to bring basic school supplies on the first day. Click here for a detailed list.
Changes to Lunch Time Procedures
There will be some changes to the lunch hour for next year. Some parents may wish that their son/daughter leaves school property at lunch to go home. If a student needs to go home, parents will be required to write a note. More information will be sent home the
first week of school. The school does not recommend that students leave the school at lunch.
Beginning in September there will be two recesses.
- 30 minutes recess (10:25 a.m. – 10:55 a.m.): All students will remain on school property at this recess.
- 60 minutes lunch/recess (12:35p.m. - 1:35p.m.): Only students with written permission will be permitted to leave school property. More detailed procedures will be addressed in September.
At this time, the cafeteria will not be open to serve food to students in September. Students will be required to bring their own lunch to school. Students will still eat in the cafeteria. Please note that for the first week of school students will remain on school property untilpermissions are verified.
History
Fisher Park has always enjoyed a warm and supportive relationship with the community. Fisher Park was originally constructed as a high school for the Collegiate Institute Board of Ottawa in 1948 and operated as Fisher Park High School until 1987. The Ottawa Roman Catholic Separate School Board operated Notre Dame High School out of this site until the spring of 1994, at which time our school was created. The current Fisher Park School draws its students mainly from the intermediate attendance areas of W.E. Gowling, Connaught and Elmdale. The goal of our school is to focus on what we share as we come together to create a common experience and culture. Fisher Park is co-located with Summit Alternative. We share a building, administration, teachers, teams, clubs, pride, & spirit for our school.
